5th Annual Modern Trends in Joint Replacement (MTJR)

The International Congress for Joint Reconstruction (ICJR) is looking forward to another great Modern Trends in Joint Replacement (MTJR) Course this year.

In its fifth year, the MTJR course continues to promote the highest standards of orthopedic practice by educating practitioners, promoting research, and encouraging communication between opinion leaders and community based surgeons.

This year under the direction of the expert MTJR faculty, attendees will have the opportunity for hands-on experience honing their skills in hip and knee arthroplasty with the MTJR cadaver labs. These labs will take place the afternoons of Thursday, September 19, and Friday, September 20.

  • Thursday will feature two 90-minute knee cadaver labs: one on varus knee, and the other on custom knees and cutting blocks.
  • Friday will feature two 90-minute hip cadaver labs: one on new technologies in primary hip replacement, and the other on revision hip replacement.

SmartMoney Interview and “Best of Web” Recognition for BoneSmart®

Elevating the image of the joint replacment industry and raising awareness among prospective joint replacement patients about their options for treatment are two of the primary goals of this Foundation. So we are pleased to share this recent recognition by two notable publications – the Wall Street Journal’s SmartMoney and HealthLine.com – that underscore the work we do every day, to benefit both consumers and the image of this industry.

Wall Street Journal’s SmartMoney Interviews FARM Founder

On Monday (August 20, 2012), the WSJ’s SmartMoney published a story about higher taxes for hip replacements, for which FARM founder, Richard Warner, was interviewed. Warner, a double hip implant recipient himself, was quoted regarding his absolute belief in joint replacement surgery as a life changing procedure – even in the face of potential tax-related cost increases.

HealthLine Names BoneSmart.org “Best of the Web”

Earlier this month FARM’s patient outreach website, BoneSmart.org, received yet another bit of recognition – this time from one of the web’s largest medical publishers (HealthLine.com) – which named the site one of the Top 11 Best Total Knee Replacement Blogs. We are grateful for the recognition, and proud to say BoneSmart® has experienced seven straight years of growth. Millions of visitors each year help nurture the web’s most active joint replacement patient forum (with a current archive of more than 300,000 patient “posts”). See the award >
